Abstract
1479813 Burner controls DANFOSS AS 8 Aug 1975 [7 Sept 1974] 33163/75 Heading F4T An A.C. control device for igniting and monitoring a flame-fired furnace comprises a fuel relay M, for controlling the fuel supply, the relay being connected in series with an impedance Z, R3, and is energizable in dependence on the operation of at least one contact M1 of a flame monitoring circuit FW, a safety switch V1, heatable by a coil V, and optionally a time switch T1, the impedance having a resistance value such that the fuel relay M drops-off when the voltage applied to the control device falls below a value which is at least equal to that necessary for ignition and/or monitoring of the furnace, the impedance being so connected that it influences the current flow through the heating coil V of the safety switch V1, to a lesser extent. In operation, with boiler thermostat KT closed, heating coil T of the time switch T1 is heated and after a few seconds the switch closes at a and voltage is applied to the series circuit containing fuel relay M, and coil V is heated. Current flows through relay M, switches M1, M2, close, to supply voltage to ignition gas magnetic valve MV1 so that gas flows to the furnace combustion chamber. Simultaneously, ignition device ZT is actuated through a closed photocontact F3 and the gas is ignited. If flame monitor FW shows that flame exists, photoswitch Fl closes and photoswitches F2, F3, open, so that a current limited by resistance R3 flows to hold relay M, but not to actuate the latter. Coil T cools so that switch T1 returns to rest position b and MV2 and the series circuit are supplied from phase lead 4 through switches Fl, M1. When the boiler reaches the required temperature thermostat KT opens, valves MV1, MV2, as well as relay M, are de-energized and the gas supply is interrupted. Zener diode Z may be replaced by an ohmic resistance (R4) bridged by a diode (D3) Fig. 2 (not shown). A glow lamp GL is actuated when switch V1 moves to operating position b.
