Abstract

1478407 Signal generators ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 20 Sept 1974 [22 Sept 1973] 41030/74 Heading G1N [Also in Division H3] Apparatus for signalling the top dead centre, TDC, position of the crank-shaft of an I.C. engine comprises a disc 10, Fig. 1, mounted on the crankshaft axle 11, with a metal insert 12 corresponding to TDC which produces a pulse as it passes by a pick-up coil 13. The pulse is integrated at 23, 25 and fed to an amplifier 29, acting as a threshold switch, whose output forms one input to AND gate 35, the other input being obtained from transistor 21 which is triggered when the amplified pulse from coil 13 passes through zero. Thus the output from gate 35 is a pulse whose leading edge coincides with TDC, and the circuit ignores noise impulses picked-up by coil 13.
