Abstract

1476517 Fluid oscillators MESSERSCHMITTBOLKOW-BLOHM GmbH 2 Sept 1974 [26 Sept 1973] 38335/74 Heading G3H In a bi-stable fluidic switch-oscillator device, Fig. 1, having a main jet supply E, outlets A 1 , A2 and feedback conduits R 1 , R 2 communicating with control inlets S 1 , S 2 , flow through the feedback conduits can be prevented by magneticallyactuated valve means. With the valve means de-energized the device functions in the manner of a conventional oscillator, the closure member 3 of the valve means being forced back and forth by the alternating feedback flows. However, by alternately energizing magnets M 1 and M2 via switch 7 the main jet can be controllably switched between the outlets. Valves 10 communicating with the atmosphere or a pressure medium tank, prevent low suction pressures developing at the control inlets. Fluid capacitors C 1 , C 2 ensure that the switch-over time of the oscillator is sufficient for the closure member 3 to move between its alternative positions. In an alternative embodiment, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), each feedback conduit is provided with a respective magnetically-actuated spring-biased valve (V) which functions as a non- return valve when the oscillator functions in conventional manner with the valves de-energized.
