Abstract

1476421 Cutting-out presses CUNDELL MACHINES Ltd 7 April 1975 14162/75 Heading B4B [Also in Divisions B3 and B8] A roller press for cutting sheet material, e:g. paper, textiles, plastics, foil, thin metal, comprises a support frame 1, a pair of driven pressure rollers, 2, 3 mounted on the frame, and feed and discharge tables 5 mounted on opposite sides of the rollers at positions adjacent the nip of the rollers, wherein the feed and discharge tables are resiliently supported so as to be movable in a vertical direction relative to the frame and the nip of the rollers. Each table (one only shown in the Figure), is formed of a portion 6 having rollers 7 and a flat-surface portion 10, the table being mounted, at each end, on a transverse series of resilient mountings 12; the mountings are dampers 14 which may be hydraulically or pneumatically operated or operated via rubber in shear or by spring loading. The dampers 14 are connected to links 15 provided with a roller 16 for engagement with the table. In a modification, the resilient means may be in the form of compression springs, weights or vertically operating dampers.
