Abstract

1475827 Bulk material bag; slings F NATTRASS 1 May 1975 [24 Jan 1975] 3309/75 Headings B8K and B8H A support for a load to be lifted comprises a fabric support member on or in which the load may be placed, the member having edges which are folded to a shape which is concave away from the body of the member, the folded over part of each folded edge being stiched to the main body of the member to form a tunnel, a lifting sling extending through each tunnel to form a lifting loop. A sling, Fig. 3, comprises a length of woven polypropylene 7 having cuts 14, 15 at each end to form flaps 16, 17, 18 which are folded back along a concave curve and stitched at 19 to define tunnels 12, 13 through which lifting loops 20, 21 extend. The sides of the sling may be joined by straps 9, 10 and a buckle 11. A bulk material bag, Fig. 4, which may be cylindrical or, as shown, square, has walls 23-26 divided at their upper edges by cuts 31. The free edges of the walls are folded back along concave curves and stitched to define tunnels 27-30 through which a drawstring 33 is passed to define lifting loops 34-37 at each corner of the bag.
