Abstract

1475557 Cleaning and patenting metals in molten salt baths HARTOL WERK VEB 10 Dec 1974 [11 Dec 1973] 53461/74 Headings C7E and C7N In a process of cleaning and patenting ferrous or other metals in a molten salt bath as described in Specification 1459288, the metal is first heated to austenitization temperature. The salt bath comprises 45 to 85% caustic alkali, 8 to 45% of a borate and/or phosphate of an alkali or alkaline earth metal, and 0À15 to 12% silicon carbide.
