Abstract

1475408 Gas analysis BRITISH GAS CORP 18 Dec 1975 [18 Dec 1974] 54600/74 Heading G1B The relative propositions of CO and CO 2 in an atmosphere in a flue are measured by drawing a sample of the atmosphere, e.g. with an aspirator 5 through two tubes 1 and 2 in series the first of which contains a CO reactive chemical and the second a CO 2 reactive chemical and allowing the chemical in the second tube 2 to react with CO 2 until discolouration of the second chemical extends over a preferred length of tube 2 and thence assessing from a calibration means the ratio of CO to CO 2 in the atmosphere tested. The calibration means is preferably a marked first and second tube used in conjunction with a slideably mounted calibrated card 4.
