Abstract

1475323 Erecting a building with a staircase COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE D'ENTREPRISES METALLIQUES 22 March 1974 [30 March 1973] 12939/74 Headings E1B and E1S A building is erected from prefabricated parts by a method including the assembling of floor panels at ground level together with respective staircase sections and the subsequent elevation thereof to the required positions; the staircase sections e 1 , e 2 are pivotally connected to the panels p 1 , p 2 at ground level and are held adjacent to the panels during elevation, after which the staircase sections are moved to their position of use. The staircase sections are preferably hinged at their top ends, and after positioning of the panels the other ends are lowered to rest on the floor next below. The panels preferably have openings o 1 , o 2 to form a stair well. The stair treads comprise a series of overlapping bent metal sheets (see Figs. 2 to 4, not shown). The side beams are pivoted at their ends to lugs projecting from a cross-member fixed to joists of the floor panel. The staircase section may be straight or spiral or with an intermediate landing, and may have a hand rail.
