Abstract

1475301 A coin feeding device AUTOMATIC REVENUE CONTROLS (EUROPA) Ltd 17 May 1974 [17 May 1973] 23663/73 Heading G4X [Also in Division B8] A coin feeding device is characterized by a disc 2 which is mounted about an axis which is tilted slightly from the horizontal and is provided with at least one pair of pins 4 and 6 projecting outwardly from a surface 8 which are arranged and positioned so that when a plurality of coins are fed to the disc whilst it is rotating, each coin is carried around a said pair of pins to an exit chute. Brushes 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 are positioned on disc 13 and free the disc 2. Brushes 15, 16 direct coins to the pins, brushes 17, 18 ensure only one coin is gripped by a pair of pins whilst brush 19 directs a coin to exit chute 22. Disc 2 is mounted on a back-plate which is hinged at 44 to a plate and is held in engagement on the other side to the plate by a magnetic catch 46. Motor 24 drives the disc 2. In an alternative embodiment there is no magnetic drive and a drive shaft between the motor and the disc 2 has a clutch therein. A modification to this is, if the disc jams the polarity of the motor field coils is reversed. After half a revolution the original polarity is restored. This action continues until the disc clears itself. Preferably disc 2 is tilted at 20 degrees plus or minus 2 degrees, to the vertical.
