Abstract

1120269 Chance apparatus MAR-MATIC SALES Ltd (J H KEENEY & CO Inc) 27 Sept 1965 41015/65 Heading A6H The drums 11 of a fruit machine have contact wipers 22 mounted for rotation therewith to scan the contacts on fixed plates 21 as the drums rotate, whereby prizes are automatically dispensed or not according to which combination of electrical contacts is made when the drums come to rest. The drums are driven by electric motors 12 via respective slipping clutches 14, the motors operating automatically when a coin is fed to the machine, but the drums being normally held stationary by means of latches 16 engaging notched plates 15 which are fixed relative to the drums. The player may release the latches simultaneously or independently by depressing push-buttons to energize solenoids 18, thereby freeing the drums for rotation.
