1475013 Flexitime recorder SIMPLEX TIME RECORDER CO 25 July 1974 [25 July 1973] 32918/74 Heading G4T A flexitime recorder usable to correct individual records, e.g. to allow for authorized absence, comprises a pulse generator 30 for producing counting pulses, a plurality of resettable pulse counters 14a-14d for individual records, a plurality of lock-switches 16a-16d each of which is associated with a separate counter and is operable by an employee to record his presence, and a correcting means 52 and 62 for transmitting a pre-determined number of correction pulses to any chosen counter at a frequency higher than the counting pulses. Counting pulses are emitted by the crystal-controlled generator 30 at minute intervals along line 32. A programming unit 38 which contains a program, e.g. on a circuit board, works in conjunction with an AND circuit 42 to ensure that counting pulses only reach the switches 16a- 16d during pre-determined periods of the day, as specified by the program. Correcting pulses at 8Hz frequency are also produced by the generator 30, at output 34. Lock switch 22, operable only by authorized personnel normally prevents the correcting pulses reaching the correcting units 52 and 62. Unit 52 has a counter store 18a into which the correction is inserted by means of buttons 18b. On closing switch 22 correcting pulses from generator 30 reach unit 52, which co-operates with AND circuit 58 to cause them to appear at input 60 of unit 62 so long as the counter store 18a is non-zero, the contents of the store reducing by one for each arrival of a pulse at unit 52. The inverter 54 and AND circuit 50 ensure that pulses only reach unit 52 when timing pulses are not being transmitted along 32; this prevents errors in the correction of the stores 14a-14d. An addressing unit 62 routes the correction signals to the required counter store whose contents are then increased by the required number. The address of the counter store is input to unit 62 by means of knobs 20a and 20b. Correction pulses may be used to reduce the store contents by providing a means for inverting the pulses and having stores than can also operate decrementally.
