Abstract

147,492. Neilsen, N. D. Sept. 25, 1916, [Convention date]. Batch mixers with circulating devices.-Relates to apparatus for agitating the contents of vessels such as tanks, vats, or the like having jackets through which a heating or cooling medium can be circulated, and consists in providing such a vessel A, Fig. 1, with a propeller E rotated in a vertical plane and situated close to the junction of the side and bottom of the tank. The bottom B of the tank is dished so that liquid thrown out radially from the propellor is deflected by the sides and bottom of the tank and caused to travel towards the part of the wall opposite the propeller. The device can be used, it is stated, for the pasteurization of milk.
