Abstract
Napthalene to be hydrogenated by the process described in the parent Specification is preliminarily purified by fusion with a metal compound in which the metal is loosely bound to a non-acid radicle, for example sodamide, potassamide, or ammonium amalgam, or with metal carbides such as aluminium or calcium carbide. The metal compound may be mixed with fullers' earth or similar porous materials. Specification 147,476 also is referred to.ALSO:Napthalene to be hydrogenated is preliminarily purified by fusion with a metal compound in which the metal is loosely bound to a non-acid radicle, for example sodamide, potassamide, or ammonium amalgam, or with metal carbides such as aluminium or calcium carbide. The metal compound may be mixed with fuller's earth or similar porous materials. Specification 147,476 is referred to.
