Abstract

1474081 Screens for bath-tubs or showers H G BAUS 17 May 1974 [17 May 1973] 21988/74 Heading A4N A screen for a bath-tub comprises a partition (5), Fig. 1, (not shown) secured to a wall 2 of the bath-room and provided with an upper horizontal guiding frame element 8, Fig. 4, and at least one sliding partition 6 having a supporting carriage 11 telescopically supported on rollers 12 in arms 9, 10 of the frame element 8, the upper member 14 of the partition 6 being mounted on rollers 15 in the carriage 11. The partitions are provided with rubber strips at their lower ends and may also be provided with lower horizontal guiding frames without the rollers and the supporting carriage. A lifting device 24, Fig. 5, is connected to a vertical frame element 22 of the partition 5 either directly or through a hinge 23, and a plate 27 provided with an operating lever 28 and an eccentric pin 29 engaging a slot 30 in the lifting device is rotatably mounted between a support 26 and the lifting device to lift the partition from the edge of the tub. In a modified embodiment, the lifting device consists of a lever (32), Fig. 9 (not shown) which has an eccentric pin (33) on which an adjusting lever 35 is rotatably fixed and which engages a recess (34) of the frame element. A folding partition (7, Fig. 1) may be provided at the free end of the sliding partition farthest from the wall 2.
