Abstract

1473640 Inductive signalling COVENTRY CITY COUNCIL 20 June 1974 [21 March 1973] 13516/73 Heading H4U In an inductive signalling system, e.g. for teaching purposes, receiver units are provided on a desk or table for selecting a desired source of a plurality of signal sources such as tapes carrying recorded instructional material, at least one inductive loop under a corresponding desk or table top being provided, a pick up coil of the receiver responding to the source signals transmitted by the loop(s). As described, desks in a classroom are each provided with an inductive loop and a switching arrangement coupled to a plurality of tape recorders enables the desired signal source to be selected and the remaining signals to be by-passed so that they are available for connection to the other inductive loops. Alternatively, the switching is dispensed with and each desk top carries a plurality of separate transmitting loops each connected to a different tape recorder, the receiving unit being selectively placed on the desk top to co-operate with the required loop.
