Abstract

1473288 Selective printing NCR CORP 20 Aug 1975 [16 Sept 1974] 34596/75 Heading B6F A thermographic printer includes a plurality of hot gas jets 26 directed on to a thermosensitive medium 50. Associated with each jet 26 is a cantilevered element 30 carrying a gas jet deflector 28 which can be flexed to selectively expose the medium 50 to its jet. The element 30 may be a bimetallic strip or includes a bimorph piezoelectric element which flexes when a voltage is applied across it. The gas is supplied via duct 11 from a source 10 and each jet heated by an element 15.
