Abstract

1472995 Loud-speakers assemblies; sound reflectors J R WESTLUND 6 June 1974 25203/74 Headings H4J and H4X A loud-speaker structure comprises a box frame 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 (Fig. 1). A plurality of spherical receptacles 19, 20, 21 (see also Fig. 4) are mounted on one face of the frame by mounting assemblies 24 (see also Fig. 2, not shown). Their centres of the receptacles are in alignment and each carries a loud-speaker 22, their radiation axes being parallel and facing a generally oval reflector 37 (Fig. 5) having straight sides. The reflector has a concave face directed towards the loud-speakers 22 with an apical ridge 41 closely adjacent them. The ridge 41 is a straight line. The reflector is secured to struts 16, 17, 18, 18 of the frame. The receptacles and reflector are preferably of glass fibre bonded with plastics material.
