Abstract

1472857 Waste disposal device CORNING Ltd 16 Aug 1974 [28 Aug 1973 28 Dec 1973] 40414/73 and 60102/73 Heading E1C A portable waste disposal device comprises a collection vessel 20 including an inlet 22 having a filter for receiving liquid from a laboratory sink 27b, an outlet 37 coupled to the inlet 35 of a pump 30 having its outlet 30a connectible by conduit 38 to an overhead drainage boom, Fig. 1 (not shown), a collector vessel vent 23 and a level detector 24 coupled to the pump's motor 31 to actuate the pump between fixed liquid levels. The lower level of liquid always provides a seal between the pump and the sink 27b. The inlet 22 is connected to a tube 40 having longitudinal slots 41 therein. The detector 24 consists of three electrodes 51, 52, 53. Conduit 38 is connected by a valve to the said boom in a manner to impart turbulent flow to the liquid, Fig. 3 (not shown). The overhead boom carries other service conduits.
