Abstract

The petrol tank is fitted to a motor vehicle has its pump (8) in the bottom of the tank, with its filter in a well. The pump has a resilient ring mounting (15) and is suspended inside a support ring, itself fixed inside the well by a flexible seal. The outlet (19) is connected to the feed pipe (17) through the top (6) of the tank by a flexible tube (18). This is curved and has an excess length permitting removal of the access plate (9). The installation reduces the noise level transmitted by the pump.
