Abstract
1471860 Monopole aerials PLESSEY CO Ltd 2 July 1974 [6 June 1973] 18702/76 Divided out of 1471859 Heading H4A An aerial comprises a reflector monopole, an active monopole and a director the last two substantially wholly surrounded and in contact with a dielectric whose loss factor is not more than 4% and whose relative permittivity is not less than 25. As shown the monopole 2 has an associated director 1 and reflector 3, respectively shorter and longer than the monopole 2, in one insulating container 7 of, for example, a polyacrylate, holding the dielectric material 8 whose top surface 9 is flush with the ends of the members 1-3. The dielectric is a mixture of barium and strontium titanate. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the reflector 3 may be a conductive grid or plate.
