Abstract

1471514 Packaging KUSTNER SA 10 Sept 1975 [26 Sept 1974] 37181/75 Heading B8C A machine for packaging flowable material in sector-shaped portions comprises a rotary plate 1 having groups of package-accommodating recesses 3, stations 4, 7, 9-12 for performing packaging operations on portions of the material transported in the recesses 3, means for raising the formed packages from the recesses 3 and means 14 for sweeping the packages off the plate 1 as a cylindrical bundle 18. Pre-cut wrappers, Fig. 2 (not shown), are placed in the recesses 3 at the station 4 and the material is poured into them at the station 7. Flaps are folded down or a separate closure sheet is provided at the station 9 to cover the material, closure is effected at the station 10 and sealing is effected by a heated press at the station 11. The packages are then raised from the recesses 3 by pistons (not shown) forming the recess floors, and a pivotable arm 14 with a semicircular recess 16 sweeps the packages on to a conveyer belt 19 in a compact array.
