1471498 Resin-impregnated paper fibres K W EVERS and G H LARSEN 10 June 1975 24872/75 Heading B5A [Also in Division C3] Articles such as blocks of timber substitute are made by comminuting dry waste paper in a hammer mill, screening the re-formed fibres, e.g. through a screen of mesh about # inch, mixing the screened fibres with a solution of a thermosetting resin in a solvent (e.g. a phenolic resin in water) in proportions, based on the weight of fibres, of 3 to 35% solvent and 3 to 35% resin, pressurizing the mixture in the desired form at a pressure of 3 to 600 p.s.i. while permitting solvent to escape, and baking the pressurized mixture while maintaining the pressure at temperatures between 250‹ and 375‹ F. for 3 to 30 minutes.
