Abstract

1471261 Brushes M M LEVENE 3 April 1974 [3 Jan 1973] 341/73 Heading A4K A brush, e.g. for obtaining sample cells from within a body cavity, comprises a brush stock 1 one end 2 of which is attached to a helical spring 3, there being at least some turns of the spring extending beyond the stock, at least some of the said turns surrounding and securing a part of the length of a brush 5 having substantially radially extending bristles 6 of a cellulose derivative. The spring 3 is rigidly attached to the end portion 2 by deforming a part of the spring surrounding the portion into a recess 4. An appliance for effecting this operation is illustrated in Fig. 3 (not shown).
