1471072 Making rollers BRIDGE BEARINGS Ltd 23 July 1975 [15 Aug 1974] 35893/74 Heading B3A [Also in Division F2] A method of manufacturing a conveyer roller element comprises pressing a metal tube in a die 5-8 to provide end sleeves 3 and a loadbearing portion 4 tapering continuously from one end to the other. The two main die parts 5, 6 are used first and then the two die cores 7, 8. Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown) illustrate dies (15, 16) for a first stage pressing and core dies (18, 19) for turning the sleeves (11) axially inwardly of the load-bearing portion (12).
