Abstract

1470791 Making suspension hooks SUPER ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS (WALSALL) Ltd 11 Nov 1974 [5 Jan 1974] 00543/74 Heading B3A [Also in Division E2] A method of making a suspension hook comprises providing a flat metal blank (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), having a body portion 11 and nib portion 12, bending the blank to form both the body and nib portions into a hollow and generally straight configuration, Fig. 2, bending the nib portion into a generally hook-shaped configuration and providing a screw thread 15 on the exterior of the body portion. The abutting edges of the body portion are welded together prior to providing the screw thread. In use the body part of the hook is screwed into an electrical junction box or like fitting, while the hook part 13 supports an electric light or other electrical component, wiring being passed through the hollow body part.
