Abstract

1470288 Valves ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 23 Oct 1975 [2 Nov 1974] 43510/75 Heading F2V [Also in Division G3] A flat disc valve closure member 4 seats on a planar fixed seat 2 and a movable seat 3, its function being to effect communication between a load 20 and either a pressure source 21 (which may be a compressor) or a discharge passage 23 at its respective terminal positions of its actuator with an intermediate position where both communications are shut off, the movable seat 3 being actuated through a universal coupling 10, 11 to permit accurate alignment between the fixed and movable seats. Embodiments are described in which the universal coupling is at the moving seat member 13 as shown or at an actuating piston (35), Fig. 2 (not shown), and consists of a ball-and-socket. The load may be a pressure regulator (53), Fig. 3 (not shown), of a vehicle braking system in which a piston (51) is displaced by pressure from the source 21 via seat 2 to lift a valve allowing fluid to escape via a connection (54).
