Abstract

1360155 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems APPLIED POWER INDUSTRIES Inc 22 Nov 1972 [3 Dec 1971] 53949/72 Heading G3P A force amplifier has a piston 26 with first and second faces 48, 46 with areas in the ratio of approximately two to one and with passages 50, 76, 82 by which a chamber 40 may be connected with either a pressure port 44 or an exhaust port 64 by movement of a control member 68. A second chamber 38 is permanently in communication with the pressure port 44 so that when the chamber 40 is also connected to the pressure port the piston moves to the right while when it is connected to exhaust the piston moves to the left. The control member 68 is connected by a cable 61 to a hand lever 63 and has seals 88, 90 protected from fluid under pressure by passages 52, 92 to improve ease of operation.
