Abstract

1470107 Fixing developed electrostatic images XEROX CORP 14 Nov 1974 [4 Dec 1973] 49389/74 Heading G2H Apparatus for reducing curling of a copy sheet on fusing comprises brush members 61, 62 and strips 63, 64 arranged in a fusing apparatus 1 to restrict air-flow therethrough and hence reduce moisture loss from the sheet. Dimensions and materials are given for the brushes 61, 62 and strips 63, 64. The copy sheet is fed from a transport 20 having suction means 21 to a heated platen 30 with vacuum holddown orifices 38 therein, where it is subjected to radiant fusing heat from a lamp 31 while heat to the platen 30 is switched off. Subsequently the copy sheet passes between snuffing rollers 40, 41 to tray 16.
