Abstract

1469512 Lubricating tyre interiors DUNLOP Ltd 26 June 1974 [5 July 1973] 32172/73 Heading B7C [Also in Division B8] One-piece flexible rubber or plastics stoppers 9 seal lubricant within rigid walled canisters 1, which are located in the rim base of a tyre and wheel assembly as described in Specification 1,435,915, and the stoppers are designed to be dragged out of the canisters, on deflation of the tyre, in order to release lubricant. The frustoconical end portion 11 has a dome-shaped recess 13 designed to disperse the centrifugal forces of lubricant when the wheel is in motion. The flat topped head portion 10 may be replaced by a frusto-conical head portion having a plurality of longitudinally extending grooves to ensure the release of lubricant should the stopper become depressed into the canister.
