1469354 Sampling stack gases UNITED STATES ENERGY RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION 20 Jan 1975 [26 Feb 1974] 2315/75 Heading G1B Apparatus for obtaining a substantially homogeneous sampling of an effluent stream flowing through an elongated dry stack 10 comprises a fixture 12 in the stack, a tubulation 14 supported by the fixture and projecting along the longitudinal axis of the stack, rotatable shaft 16 within the tubulation, arm 22 secured to an extension 20 of the shaft and extending orthogonal to the shaft, arm 22 having a length substantially the same as the inner radius of the stack and displaceable in a cross-sectional plane of the stack on rotation of the shaft, a worm gear 24 carried by the arm, effluent gathering means 26 threadably engaging the gear means and gear means 28, 30 coupling worm gear 24 to tubulation 14 to effect displacement of the effluent-gathering means along arm 22 in response to rotation of shaft 16. The effluent sample gathered in means 26 is removed through vacuum line 32.
