Abstract
1469321 Resistors WELWYN ELECTRIC Ltd 16 April 1975 [22 May 1974] 22867/74 Heading HIS A thick film cermet resistor comprises a first portion 4 formed as a grid one or more segments 11, 12 of which may be cut to increase the resistance in steps, a second portion 5 which can be adjusted, e.g. by cutting along lines 17, 18, to a value within the range of one step of the first portion, and a portion 6 which can be adjusted after the resistor is connected in circuit by its terminals 9, 20. Compensation for tolerances in other circuit components is thus possible. The cutting is preferably performed by a laser and in the case of portion 4 follows the arrow 13. As shown the portions are three distinct elements connected in series by conductive cermet strips.
