1469138 Flameproofing compositions BASF AG 30 July 1974 [31 July 1973] 33519/74 Addition to 1468695 Heading C3P Flameproofing concentrates for addition to polypropylene comprise by weight (1) 100 parts of polyethylene of density 0À918 to 0À921 g./c.c. and melt index 1À1 to 1À8 g./10 min., (2) 75 to 95 parts of 1,2,5,6,9,10-hexabromocyclododecane, (3) 33 to 50 parts of antimony trioxide, (4) 10 to 15 parts of pentacrythritol, (5) 20 to 30 parts of trisnonylphenyl phosphite, (6) 6 to 11 parts of stearyl 3,5 - di - t - butyl - 4 - hydroxyphenylpropionate and (7) 4 to 11 parts of a diisopropylbenzene dehydrooligomer having a degree of oligomerization of 5 to 32 and containing meta and para units in a weight ratio of 8 : 1 to 5 : 4, optionally together with (8) 10 to 15 parts of a mixture of 25 to 40 weight per cent barium laurate and 75 to 60 weight per cent cadmium laurate, and (9) 1 to 6 parts of diphenyl isooctyl phosphite. The concentrator may be blended with polypropylene in proportions to 2 to 20 parts per 100 parts of polypropylene.
