1469099 4<SP>1</SP> - Hydroxyacetanilide KODAK Ltd 24 Oct 1974 [30 Oct 1973] 50331/73 Heading C2C 4<SP>1</SP>-Hydroxyacetanilide is prepared by treating an aqueous solution of p-aminophenol sulphates and aniline sulphate with ammonia, an alkali metal acetate or ammonium acetate to adjust the pH to a value of 5 to 6, removing the aniline and acetylating the p-aminophenol by adding acetic acid anhydride, the pH being maintained at a value of 5 to 6 by addition of ammonia, an alkali metal acetate or ammonium acetate.
