Abstract

Safe handling of red phosphorus when used as a flameproofing agent for flameproofing plastics is improved if the pulverulent red phosphorus is granulated together with a binder in the form of waxes or similar substances and optionally further additives which favour the flameproofing action of red phosphorus, and the granules are incorporated into the plastic.
