1466871 Magnetic tape recorders ELEKTROAKUSZTIKAI GYAR 11 April 1974 [11 April 1973] 52212/73 Heading G5R A magnetic tape transport control receives record/replay advance, fast rewind, fast forward wind and instantaneous stop commands on input terminals J, H, E, St respectively, the stop command being stored in a store 3, and the record/replay advance, rewind and fast forward wind commands being stored in respective stores 4, 5, 6 under the control of a command receiving circuit 1, a further circuit 2 providing an output 2R to reset stores 3, 4, 5, 6 and receiving inputs from terminals J, H, E and from stores 4, 5, 6 and providing outputs controlling tape reel motors M1, M2, and there also being an activation circuit for activating the tape transport and which receives enabling signals from stores 4, 3. Store 3 provides an enabling output 3Q to a circuit 7 controlling pressure roller actuating magnet GM, to a circuit 8 controlling a brake actuating magnet FM and to a circuit 9 receiving outputs from circuit 2 and controlling motor drive circuit 12. Circuit 8 also receives an enabling signal from circuit 7 via a delay 10, and gives an output via a delay 11 to circuit 2 which also receives the output of delay 10, the time delays of circuits 10, 11 corresponding to mechanical delays of the tape transport. Circuit 2 generates an output 2t passed to inhibit input 1t of circuit 1 to prevent further signals on terminals J, H, E passing to the stores 4, 5, 6 while a previous command is being executed. The arrangement operates so that (a) in the standby or normal stop state a signal on one of terminals J, H, E brings about the corresponding transport mode removal of the signal on J, H, E bringing about the standby state, (b) during any of the three transport modes, if a conflicting command is received on one of terminals J, H, E, the current mode is continued until the corresponding command input on terminal J, H, or E ceases, whereupon transport is first stopped and then said conflicting command executed if still present at the corresponding terminal J, H, E, and (c) when a stop signal is placed on terminal St during any transport mode, a stop (pause) state is brought about for the duration of the stop signal and then such transport mode is resumed.
