Abstract

1466610 Detergent bleaching compositions KAO SOAP CO Ltd 10 Dec 1974 [11 Dec 1973] 53352/74 Heading C5D [Also in Divisions C2 and C3] A liquid detergent bleaching composition consists essentially of a stabilized, alkaline, aqueous solution of (a) from 0À5 to 10 per cent by weight of sodium hypochlorite, (b) from 0À1 to 20 per cent by weight of surfactant having the formula R<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>R<SP>3</SP>C.CH 2 OX wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP>, which can be the same or different, each is alkyl having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, the sum of the carbon atoms of R 1 , R 2 and R 3 being from 10 to 20, and X is -SO 3 M, -CH 2 COOM, -CH 2 CH 2 COOM, -(CH 2 CH 2 O) n SO 3 M or -(CH 2 CH 2 O) n CH 2 COOM, wherein n is an integer from 1 to 40 and M is an alkali metal, and (c) from 0À1 to 5 per cent by weight of a water-soluble inorganic alkali effective for stabilizing said sodium hypochlorite in aqueous alkaline solution, and (d) the balance water. The alkali is for example sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, sodium carbonate or sodium orthophosphate.
