Abstract

1464765 1,2,4-Triazole derivatives CIBAGEIGY AG 16 April 1974 [17 April 1973] 16586/74 Heading C2C 1,2,4,-Triazole derivatives of general formulµ wherein R 1 is H, or a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic radical, are prepared by reacting R 1 -NHNH 2 or a salt thereof and Cl 2 C = NCOCl. Radical R 1 is preferably H, optionally substituted C 1-6 alkyl, C 3-5 alkenyl, C 3-5 alkynyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, unsubstituted phenyl or phenyl substituted by halogen, haloalkyl, nitro, cyano, C 1-6 alkyl and/or C 1-6 alkoxy groups or thiazolyl (2), pyridyl (2) or 1-dioxothienyl (3) groups. The compound R 1 NHNH 2 is preferably used in the form of an addition salt with an inorganic or organic acid whereupon the reaction is advantageously effected in the presence of a base. Amongst the examples 1-isopropyl, 1-cyclopentyl, 1-benzyl- and 1 - (3,5 - dichlorophenyl) - 3 - hydroxy - 5- chloro - 1,2,4 - triazoles are prepared.
