Abstract

1464748 Earth-digging edge assemblies CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 16 Oct 1974 [16 Oct 1973] 44847/74 Heading E1F A one piece cutting edge and tooth-mounting member 10 for releasable attachment to an earth-working surface 11 of an earth-working apparatus is so formed that each toothmounting portion 14 of the member 10 has a nose formation 22 terminating at the outer end in a flat abutment surface 21 that is engaged by a flat abutment surface of a tooth when the tooth is mounted on said portion. Preferably the member 10 is suitably apertured for the passage therethrough of the spaced apart retaining bolts 12 by which the member is secured to the surface 11. The nose may be further defined by upper and lower convergent surfaces and, when so defined, then engages in a complementary recess in the tooth, which is then secured to the nose by a pin 18 being passed through aligned apertures in the nose and the tooth.
