Abstract

1464013 Ring-labelling insulated wires AEG-TELEFUNKEN KABELWERKE AG 22 May 1974 [26 May 1973] 22968/74 Heading B6C [Also in Division D1] Plastics-insulated wires are ring-labelled as they pass from the winding cylinder of a drum winder into the drum; this means that the wires need not be labelled at their full draw-off speed from the apparatus when the insulation is applied. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, insulated wires 1 are wound on winding cylinder 2 and then drop in loops into drum 7; they are acted on by pairs of colour jets 11 to form ring labels. Each pair of jets are provided by nozzles 8, 12 mounted above each other in the vertical direction, nozzles 8 being carried on in inner ring (not shown) concentric with the axis of the cylinder 2, and nozzles 12 on an outer ring. Alternatively, in another embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the rings are provided by pairs of resilient printing discs (4, 5) dipping in colour containers (6). Separate colour containers and/or pumps can be provided for the inner and outer nozzles or discs.
