Abstract

1463915 Tractor/trailer braking systems KOMBINAT ORSTA - HYDRAULIK VEB 5 Feb 1975 [12 March 1974] 4984/75 Heading F2F In a combination of a trailer with air brakes and a tractor with a hydrostatic transmission, comprising a motor 2 coupled by pressure lines 5, 6 to an adjustable pump 1, the air brake valve 15 is controlled by a piston-rod 14 of a spring biased piston in a cylinder 11 supplied, through a changeover valve 9 coupled to a control lever 4 of the hydrostatic transmission with the return pressure line. The changeover valve is switched by movement of the lever 4 in its gate between forward and reverse drive planes OV and O<SP>1</SP>R. In operation, on deceleration of the tractor the return line pressure increases to actuate the trailer brakes through the valves 9 and 15. The spring 12 is chosen so as not to be compressed by the return line pressure in normal driving of the vehicle combination.
