1463645 Saucepans B VON TEPPNER 24 Feb 1975 [25 Feb 1974 1 Oct 1974] 7589/75 Heading A4A A saucepan for use in cooking vegetable food, such as potatoes, without water comprises a plane base 1 for absorbing the heat of the hot-plate or flame, a side wall 2, a top opening 3, and a lid 5 for closing the opening, at least the base and wall being made of a ceramic material containing a proportion of fireclay. The side wall 2 is curved and has a point of maximum diameter between the base and the top opening. The height of the pan is less than the maximum diameter. The saucepan has a hollow handle 4 which is open at its outer end. The ceramic material may contain 30-60% of fireclay, or more preferably 35-45%.
