Abstract

1463172 Attaching handles R D BOWLER 9 May 1975 [18 July 1974] 31918/74 Heading B3A [Also in Division B8] The ends of a metal or plastics bail handle, having circular rivet-receiving apertures 13, are secured to rivets 20 on a can by defining half of each aperture in a first handle part 16 and half in a second handle part 14, which is initially bent to an inclined position relative to the first part to permit entry of the rivet head through the aperture and which is subsequently bent back into the plane of the first part to prevent release of the rivet head.
