Abstract

1462744 Sheet transfer cylinder POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG KOMBINAT FUR POLYGRAPHISCHE MASCHINEN UND AUSRUSTUNGEN VEB 23 Jan 1975 [21 March 1974] 2984/75 Heading B6C A sheet transfer cylinder 6, Fig. 5, of a multicolour rotary press includes a suction system 10 on an arm 19 articulated to pivotal links 16, 18 the link 16 being connected to a further link 22 and a cam drive 23, 24; and a gripper system 11 articulated on lever 20 to link 25 and cam drive 26, 27. In operation, the suction system 10 entrains the trailing edge of a sheet (12) printed by a first printing drum 5 at the point of contact (14) between drum 5 and cylinder 6, Fig. 2 (not shown); the suction system then is displaced relative to the cylinder in the direction of rotation of the cylinder 6 but also inwardly so that the trailing edge of the sheet is stripped from drum 5 and-is brought into contact with gripper system 11, Fig. 3 (not shown); the cylinder 6 continues to rotate with the sheet gripped by both systems 10 and 11 until the sheet is completely removed from drum 5; the suction system 10 then returns to its initial relative position and the gripper system 11 transports the sheet to the second printing drum 8, Fig. 4 (not shown).
