Abstract

1462699 Moulding oil tanks P RASS 3 June 1974 [5 June 1973] 24436/74 Heading B5A [Also in Division E1] A double walled storage tank of substantially ovoid shape for fuel oils is manufactured by taking a flange 10 of metal or glass-fibre reinforced synthetic material and mounting it on a rotating shaft to which an inflatable mould is attached. A first layer of resin gel is then applied by spray gun followed by a mixture of resin and glass-fibre when this inner shell 11 is hard enough the mould is deflated and removed whereupon a layer of porous matting 12 is applied and the outer wall 13 formed thereon.
