Abstract

1461447 Feeding sheets GLORY KOGYO KK 4 Jan 1974 [12 Jan 1973] 00340/74 Heading B8R Sheets supported on edge in a magazine 80 are separated by cam operated suction heads 5 and forwarded to a transport mechanism comprising conveyer belts 20 co-operating with rollers 32 and 33. Sheet separators.-Two suction heads 5 are moved by a cam operated linkage (Fig. 8, not shown) between a position adjacent the endmost sheet of the pile (which sheet is released upon retraction of end stop 81) and a position where the reparated sheet is presented to the input of the transport mechanism. Sheet forwarders.-The belt assembly comprising belts 21 and pulleys 18 and 19 is pivotable about the axis of pulley 19 to permit access to the sheet transport path. The roller assembly comprising rollers 32 and 33 and guide plate 28 is pivotable about the axis of driven roller 38 (which drives the belt 22). The axis of roller 32 is nearer the pivotal axis of the assembly 21 than is the axis of pulley 18. The roller assembly may be replaced by a belt and pulley assembly. Sheet detectors.-A nip roller pair 46, 47 senses when more than a single sheet is passed to the transport mechanism. Roller 46 is mounted on a pivoted lever which is connected to a sensing switch. Photoelectric counting means is provided downstream of the rollers 46 and 47.
