Sawing-machine work-holders.-In machines for trimming logs or timber wherein a log carriage 1 is traversed past a saw 19, the log is held by pins 9, 14 upstanding from slides 5 which are adapted to be moved, as by means of handles 20, transversely of the carriage during a cutting operation so that a special contour may be given to the work, for example to produce ships' masts or booms. The pins lean towards each other and the pins 14 are adjustable in length by rotation upon screws 17.
