Abstract

1460490 Vehicle headlamps WESTFALISCHE METALL INDUSTRIE KG HUECK & CO 27 March 1974 [7 April 1973] 13636/74 Heading F4R A reflector for use in a vehicle headlamp is made from a low profile resin, preferably an unsaturated polyester resin, containing an inorganic filler in powder and/or granular form. The filler, preferably quartz or chalk, may be present in the ratio of three to six parts by weight to one part of resin, and the reflector made from this material, being sensitive to breakage, is mounted in the headlamp in a manner which relieves it of the weight of the lens or glass. In the preferred embodiment three mounting elements 5 are connected by respective mounting bolts 3 to a supporting frame 4, each element bearing against the back 6 of a peripheral rim 7 of the reflector 1 and having arms 8, 9 which extend through the rim and are embedded in an adhesive composition 10 which bonds the lens 2 to the reflector.
