Abstract

1460252 Magnetic storage arrangements VYCHISLITEL TSENTR SIBIR OTDELENIA AKAD NAUK SSSR 25 Feb 1975 [19 March 1974 1 April 1974 8 April 1974] 7783/75 Addition to 1331920 Heading H3B A curved wire 5 extends through a base sleeve 2 into a rotatable bin 1 in which toroidal ferrite cores 4 are loaded, the wire being bent into a direction opposite to that in which the bin is rotated so that the end 7 of the wire engages core apertures sequentially as the bin rotates and causes cores so threaded to pass to a position externally of the bin. The bin is rotated by a drive 11, rotation of the wire which is curved externally at 12 being prevented by a fixed plate 8, Fig. 2. Bore threading is assisted by the use of an adjustable permanent magnet 13 and a magnetisable ring 14 for positioning the cores in a vertical position. Alternatively an electromagnet may be used, Fig. 3 (not shown). Loading up the bin may be effected automatically by the use of a larger funnel-shaped supply bin 16, Fig. 4.
