Abstract

1460230 Multiple bending CROGGON & CO Ltd 16 Oct 1975 [4 Jan 1975] 354/75 Heading B3E A method of manufacturing roof ridging of the type comprising an elongate open-ended trough, Fig. 3, the cross-section of which has a bulbous head 6 narrowing to a neck 7 from which opposed sides 8, 9 of equal length extend to in-turned flanges 10, 11, comprises forming a planar sheet of ridging material in a first press into a trough with splayed sides and a rounded bottom, and placing the inverted trough over a fixed die complementary to the desired final shape and operating on it with movable dies on either side of the trough. Apparatus for carrying out the method, Fig. 1, comprises troughforming dies 22, 23 of the length of the ridging, the latter die operable by hydraulic rams 24 (one shown), and fixed die 26 of the required shape, co-operating with movable dies 31, 32 operable by hydraulic rams 33, 34 (one of each shown).
