Abstract

1460221 Compounding PVC BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 27 Feb 1975 [21 Jan 1974] 02716/74 Heading C3P Vinyl chloride is polymerized in the presence of an alkaline earth metal salt of a C 2-25 fatty acid to form a polymer which is then blended with a zinc salt of a C 2-25 fatty acid. The preferred materials are calcium stearate and zinc stearate. The zinc salt can be added to the polymer before separation from its reaction medium.
